2012 Spindrift Cellars Pinot Gris
Willamette Valley, OR
Winemaker - Matthew Compton

Wow! I gotta say I was shocked when I encountered this zesty and expressive wine! When it jumped out of the glass at me with crisp lime and pink grapefruit aromas, I naturally thought that this has to be a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. But wait, this is a Pinot Gris from Oregon?! I was surprised , yet excited, to find so much citrus character in this wine instead of the usual and somewhat expected creamy pear and apple tones that are typical of Oregon Pinot Gris, that I filled my glass and took it though the entire store and had everyone take a sip! Everybody loved it and also thought it might be a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. If you are looking for a little "zest" in your wine sipping lives, you'll want to check out this wine. This is a perfect summer sipper, and it is sure to surprise you and your friends.
